Jess Stryker & Associates specializes in landscape architecture for retail businesses and restaurants. Our success in this field is a result of our understanding the needs of the retail business community. The retail industry survives by selling products. If products can't be sold then a landscape is not needed. Thus we approach each retail or restaurant design from the perspective of "how can we design the landscape to promote product sales?" For example, how can we use the landscape to enhance, rather than hide, the store entrances and signage? Can planting patterns, colors, and textures be used that will draw the passerby to the store or restaurant? These are just two of an extensive list of factors we look at when designing each landscape.

One of the problems we frequently encounter are local landscape ordinances which are designed to hide businesses from public view. We approach these from a cooperative perspective, searching for a win/win solution that will provide the business with the exposure it needs, while meeting the beatification goals of the local community. The end result is a landscape that does more than just look pretty, it enhances the business!

Jess Stryker & Associates has designed landscapes for shopping centers featuring most of the big names in retailing today: AutoZone, Best Buy, CompUSA, Home Depot, Kohl's, Kmart, Office Depot, Office Max, PetSmart, Payless Shoe Source, Sam's Club, Von's, Walgreen's, Wal-Mart and lot's of other less known names. We also have provided designs for many restaurant chains, including Arby's, Crocodile Cafe, Dairy Queen, Del Taco, HomeTown Buffet, Jack in the Box, McDonald's, P.F. Chang's, Pizza Hut, Roadhouse Grill, Taco Bell, TGI Friday's, and more.

Jess Stryker & Associates also specializes in irrigation design and troubleshooting. We have designed hundreds of irrigation systems throughout the United States, working primarily as a consultant to other Landscape Architectural and Engineering firms who have a unique project that requires a higher level of skill or knowledge than they can provide in-house. Jess Stryker & Associates does not provide design services for any type of residential project, including multi-family projects (such as condominium complexes and apartments). By limiting our scope of work we can concentrate on being the best design firm in our specialty areas, rather than trying to "do it all"!

Jess Stryker & Associates was founded in 1980 in Fresno, California as an irrigation consulting firm, using the name Oasis Irrigation Design. Two years later the name was changed to Jess Stryker & Associates. In 1987 the firm practice was expanded to include landscape architecture. The firm relocated to Ventura county, California in October of 1997. Jess Stryker is the principle license/registration holder for the firm. Jess Stryker is licensed to practice landscape architecture in Arizona, California, and Nevada.
