Very Large Petrified Log with Flared Base.  This log is nearly intact, including the flared trunk buttress.  Petrified Forest National Park, Arizona..
The park service placed concrete supports under this petrified log to keep erosion caused by visitor's compacting the soil around it from dislodging it.
